Hello to all!!!
Warning: This is not really an update letter. The real update letter will be coming soon, but not today!
Many of you have asked for a mailing address for our family. Well, we finally have one! It was pretty easy to get, once we found the post office. When we did finally get to the PO, I told Doug I didn't think we would be able to get a PO Box, because I didn't have any proof of address. He said that he didn't think it would make any difference. He was right. One thing though, was that there was only one box available and there were no keys for it. We had to take the lock tumbler assembly to a locksmith in town and have him make keys for it and then return to the PO again. It was a little more difficult than it sounds. Someday maybe I'll be able to explain what it's like to drive in downtown Guasave. Suffice to say, it took a little longer than we would have wanted, but an address we have!!!
Here it is:
Doug and Rebecca Coult
Apartado Postal #394
Guasave, Sinaloa, MX
Here is our phone # again: 011 52 687 873 7131
Just a word about sending packages: allow about 3 weeks for delivery; don't send irreplaceable or really valuable things (birth certificates, cash, small children, etc.); don't send packages which look like "new things" i.e. stuff in a VCR box -- even if it has been retaped shut -- plain brown is best. Other than that, we've been told that the mail system is usually pretty reliable -- if a little slow.
Thank you for all your prayers! We have been battling sickness here, but are all well right now. Apparently a nasty flu is working its way around the area. We had the honor of getting it early!
We continue to pray for God's direction in our ministry here. Our work at the campos (migrant camps) has been wonderful. I'll send photos next letter. A weekly meeting has been set up in Huitussi -- PRAISE GOD! A worship concert is scheduled for our front porch for the weekend of semana santa (Easter weekend) -- more on that next letter, too!
"We thank God continually for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers!"
In the name of our Awesome Lord and Saviour -- Jesus Christ!
-- Rebecca (and the rest of the family, too!!!)
